Since my original post a few months ago I've finally had a chance to explore the wacom through photoshop. I really like it. I find that I often put off oil painting because of time constraints. However, I usually carry a back pack with my labtop and sketch pad in it. I just threw the wacom in there as well and I have a digital art studio wherever I go. I love it. I can use it for 5 minutes or 5 hours. I don't need to worry about makin a mess or getting thinner and oil paint all over. Most of all I don't need to clean brushes :-) . Not that I mind... but it's a process that often makes me think twice before I get into a project between clients. If I don't have a 2-3 hour window I usually won't bust out the brushes.
With that said. Nothing can really replace the look, smell and feel of oil on canvas. I just try to balance my time between oil and digital.
